Recent correspondence in The Times about the torments of PE, one writer recalled Wycliffe College in the 1970's which ended with two visits to the 'bottomless abyss', a vast bog of knee deep slime, and a final stretch of about 300 metres through a pig field of such viscosity that progress above 1mph was impossible. It was always raining and sub zero.
Can anyone beat that with their memories?!
